Online Application Submission on e-District Delhi Portal
Portal Registration: Access the official e-District Delhi portal (edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in) and log in or register using the Aadhaar details of either the groom or the bride.
Service Selection: Under the services tab, select "Registration of Marriage under Anand Marriage Act".
Form Submission: Fill in the personal details of both parties, date of marriage, Gurdwara details, and details of the two witnesses accurately.
Uploading Documents: Upload self-attested PDF copies of all mandatory documents, including proof of age, proof of residence in Delhi, the Gurdwara Marriage Certificate, wedding photographs, and identity proofs of both witnesses.
Document Verification & Fee Payment
Scrutiny of Application: After submitting the online application, the system and portal officials conduct an initial online review of the uploaded documents.
Fee Payment: Pay the prescribed statutory fee (typically around ₹500) through the online payment gateway integrated into the e-District portal using Net Banking, Debit Card, or UPI.
Acknowledgement Receipt: Upon successful payment, download and print the system-generated Acknowledgement Receipt, which contains the unique Application Tracking Number and assigned SDM office details.
Appointment & Physical Verification before the Registrar/SDM
Slot Booking: Schedule an appointment slot for the physical verification visit at the relevant Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office via the e-District portal.
Physical Appearance: On the scheduled appointment date, the Groom, Bride, and both Witnesses must appear in person before the SDM / Marriage Registrar.
Document Verification: Present all original documents (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Gurdwara Certificate, etc.) along with physical self-attested copies for verification. Biometric identification and live photograph capture of the parties are conducted at the office.
Issuance of Anand Marriage Certificate
Final Approval: Upon successful verification of physical documents and identity verification of all parties, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate approves the application.
Certificate Generation: The official Anand Marriage Certificate is generated on the e-District portal within 3 to 7 working days post-approval.
Digital Signature: The certificate bears the digital signature of the SDM and can be directly downloaded and printed by logging into the applicant's e-District account. It is legally valid across India and internationally recognized for official and visa purposes.
